The Da Vinci Hotel & Suites, part of the Legacy Group, faced the problem that the hospitality industry experiences – high, continuous hot water demands, and rising energy costs. An indirect solar hot water system was designed, installed and commissioned by NRG that provides 20 000L of hot water daily. The hotel is a high-rise building in the heart of the Sandton CBD – thus challenges of roof-top space constraints, safety hazards and long piping lengths were overcome by the NRG team using creative design and implementation. The system was one of the first of its kind to be implemented in South Africa.
