Summerstrand Hotel

Project Information The Summerstrand Hotel adds to the growing list of hospitality clients in NRG’s portfolio. An energy audit was completed that sought to examine the existing infrastructure and planned new build in terms of energy saving opportunities and consumption patterns. An energy baseline was also defined as a point of reference for measuring future savings. Some opportunities identified include energy efficient lighting replacements and sensor installations, room card energy activators, and detailed best practice implementation. Guidelines were provided in terms of procurement of new equipment and benchmarks were provided for the purpose of efficient expansions. Ultimately, an impressive 29% of energy costs could be saved by implementing all projects recommended. Wind and solar generation were recommended as future projects.
