Who Is Next Renewable Generation

Next Renewable Generation (with a shareholder history as Kayema Energy Solutions and NRG Renew) was founded in 2008 and has become a well-established entity in the South African market. Keeping abreast with new technologies and energy solutions, we were named “Energy Company of the Year” by the South African Energy Efficiency Agency in 2010 and nominated for the “Energy Efficiency Project of the Year” in 2011. In September 2016, Inabata, (a large Japanese Tokyo Stock Exchange-listed trading company) made an initial investment and commitment to NrG’s future ambitions.

Next Renewable Generation has now extended its capabilities into the Commercial and Industrial (C&I) space by offering clients the ability to purchase electricity on a distributed (or site) basis without the necessity of client Capital Expenditure (“CapEx”). This is done through our flexible and well established Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) and leasing offering.

Our know-how and experience is further enhanced by its unique financial and technical advisory support through its previous affiliation with NRG Energy Incorporation, based in the United States, who provided the platform for our capability and offering in the African market.

NRG in the U.S. operates more than 50 gigawatts (“GW”) of power assets, including more than 50 renewable energy projects, totaling approximately 5GW of solar and wind capacity. They are the largest Independent Power Producer in the U.S. and bear the financial strength of a Fortune 200 leader, with a commitment to sustainability.
