Energy Audits

NrG believes that each customer is unique and faces their own energy challenges. We offer Energy Audits as a way to completely review your facility and gain a thorough understanding of your energy use and cost.

During our audit process we evaluate your energy users, analyse costs and and review existing management systems. We ensure that we accurately collect all relevant data to be able to report holistically on the site energy footprint.

The ultimate goal of the audit is to determine the current energy baseline of your facility and then establish the scope of energy solutions that will be beneficial to your business. Beyond proposing energy efficiency measures we also scope renewable energy solutions. In doing so, we design and propose a system for your facility that is economical, bankable and appropriately fits your needs.

Our Team's Approach to Energy Efficiency Projects

Implementing energy saving and efficiency projects is the first stage in improving any organization’s sustainability and reducing its environmental impact. Our team’s approach starts with the site audit (detailed above) to determine what and how much energy is used. Next, we identify and energy efficiency projects that would have the most impact, before considering the installation of renewable energy generation technologies. Our team of auditors includes electrical engineers, Certified Measurement & Verification Professionals (CMVP’s) and other industry experts.

The energy efficient technologies proposed to clients typically include efficient lighting, variable speed drives for motors, power factor correction and boiler efficiency improvements. In some cases, specialized audits on compressed air systems, refrigeration and boilers are completed to provide insight on both the demand and supply sides of a company’s energy approach.

In addition, energy savings can be achieved through implementing a management system focused on training staff and employees to become active contributors to the initiative. Each energy management system is based on the ISO 50 001 framework used globally, and auditing principles are applied using a combination of Six Sigma/DMAIC, International Measurement & Verification Protocols (IPMVP) and UNIDO principles.
