Project Information A number of the Nestle manufacturing facilities made use of inefficient lighting technologies. The projects included the installation of energy efficient lighting at four manufacturing facilities. A total number of 8000 light fittings were installed across 4 sites located in Pretoria, Johannesburg, East London and Cape Town. To better understand how and when energy is used at a facility, Nestlé requested to have energy audits and studies conducted at the Johannesburg, Estcourt and Potchefstroom manufacturing facilities. These projects are aimed at identifying opportunities where energy and carbon savings opportunities existing in the production process.
