NrG’s engagement with Griekwaland-Wes Koperasie began in 2013 and is continued. NrG has systematically reviewied energy consumption and seeking energy savings opportunities at several sites, including Groblershoop, Douglas, Jan-Kempdorp and others. A major energy saving opportunity identified, designed, and quantified includes a large scale, industrial solar hot water system which has the potential for large cost savings. In addition, NrG has provided guidance in setting up an energy office including development of a policy and energy management system design. There are many savings to be achieved.
